Magnus Wastesson (b.1985) is a visual artist based in Stockholm.

With his own experiences as a starting point, he works with painting and sculpture, using a mainly figurative expression.

By basing his work from a combination of photos, life and memories, the pictures become equal parts biographical and fictional, like the sharing of a hazy memory.

What is true or not in the paintings are less important, the emphasis is on how it felt. 

The situations to which the viewer is invited may at first seem mundane, but underneath they are representations of identities, utopias, futures and an experienced reality from a queer point of view. 

The possible events that led to the scenes are often taking place outside the picture, instead the viewer is invited to take part in the aftermath and how it may shape us.
